Brief description
Many smart, capable theatre practitioners feel that they are not completely on top of health and safety issues given competing demands for both time and resources; however, an investment in health and safety can pay off in protecting both people and productions.
Detailed description
Focusing on the unique health and safety challenges that arise in the theatre industry, this workshop will guide participants through the process of risk assessment and control. We will develop a shared vocabulary for advocating health and safety in the workplace, empowering everyone to approach health and safety with confidence. This session will cover how to research health and safety issues, apply legislative requirements and implement best practices in a theatre setting. Whether companies are big or small, participants will leave this session with a fresh perspective and practical steps to help them create or refocus their health and safety program.
